About Mill Branch Park

Mill Branch Park is snuggled right off Bowen Blvd., running along historic Mill Branch Creek with Spring Creek flowing through as well. One of the largest city parks in Northwest Arkansas, it features 111 acres of natural surface trails, 2 ponds, a 9-hole disc golf course, karst bluffs, a high meadow, tree-lined ravines, a historic spring and homesite, and 30 native trees labeled with identification drawings. The park celebrated its grand opening on September 2, 2022.

Trails

Three miles of natural-surface trails wind through the park, each marked with a colored blaze you can follow on the ground. Pick a route by distance and terrain.

 

  • Fox Trail

    Blue 0.50 mi

    Relatively flat. Leads to the steeper Deer Trail.

  • Deer Trail

    Yellow 1.22 mi

    The park's longest loop. Circles the property and returns to the low-water creek crossing.

  • Owl Trail

    White 0.42 mi

    Circles the field.

  • Hawk Trail

    Red 0.40 mi

    Bisects the property.

  • Wood Duck Trail

    Orange 0.06 mi

    A short spur down to Wood Duck Pond.

  • Community Center Access

    Connector 0.40 mi

    Links the park to the Goshen Community Building.

Walking & Biking Trails

Over three miles of natural surface trails marked with colored blazes, from the flat Fox Trail to the steeper Deer Trail loop.

Disc Golf

A nine-hole disc golf course woven through the park's open meadows and tree lines.

Fishing Ponds

Two ponds, Wood Duck and Salamander, open for catch-and-release fishing.

Native Tree Trail

Thirty native trees, each labeled with an identification drawing, from white dogwood to silver maple.

Open-Air Stargazing

A designated open-air area set aside for stargazing under the park's wide night skies.

Prairie Restoration

An active prairie restoration area supports native plants and the commission's invasive species removal work.

Historic Spring & Homesite

A historic spring and the Moses Dutton home site preserve a piece of Goshen's early history.

Karst Bluffs & High Meadow

Natural karst bluffs, tree-lined ravines, and an open high meadow shape the park's Ozark terrain.

Creek Crossing

A stepping-stone crossing carries the trail over Mill Branch Creek, the headwater stream the park is named for.
