The north side of Mill Branch Creek got some well deserved attention when volunteers turned out for a cleanup. Working from the north parking lot eastward along the creek to the Story Tree, community members Andrew Eden, Ivan Ivannikov, Mayor Stroud, Ken and Mary Smith, and Danielle Edwards hauled out more than seven trailer loads of dead limbs, fallen trees, and other debris. Their efforts restored the area’s natural beauty and left the trail safer and more enjoyable for everyone who walks it.

One of our disabled residents needed a hand with a serious yard cleanup, and Goshen’s volunteers answered the call. The whole project came together without a hitch, in large part thanks to Dave Gatlin, the city’s Infrastructure and Facilities Manager, who gave his own time to round up a crew and coordinate the work. Huge thanks to the volunteers who rolled up their sleeves: Mike Nimmo, Nick Shear and Shear Outdoor Services, Wesley McGinnis, and John Coger. This is the kind of neighbor helping neighbor effort that makes our small town feel like home.
