Goshen History
How Goshen Began
Originally established in 1874 as College Grove and renamed Goshen in 1876, the settlement grew into a bustling hub with stores, a flour mill, a blacksmith shop, and a schoolhouse that doubled as a church. Nestled where the White River meets Richland Creek at Twin Bridges, Goshen's agricultural heritage — hay fields, cattle farms, and equine facilities — has shaped the town's character for over a century.
